To Our U.S. Senators,
To President George W. Bush,
A bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R.3) on January 11, 2007, that provides taxpayer funding for the kind of stem cell research that will result in the destruction of living human beings in their embryonic stage of life.
We, the undersigned, ask our Senators to oppose S.5 the Senate version, and if it passes the Congress, we then ask President Bush to veto it.
Embryos are indisputably unique, unrepeatable, living human beings in a weak, vulnerable, and dependent stage of life. Justice and common decency require their protection.
We have signed this letter with our email addresses. Catholics for the Common Good has committed to keep us informed of the progress of this legislation and the results of critical votes.
