National Implications- Polls Show Toss Up in Maine
Restoring Marriage Definition Hangs in Balance
Prayers, Fasting, Calling Urgently Needed

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, October 23, 2009 -- On November 3 the voters of Maine have one last chance to restore the definition of marriage and block the teaching of same-sex "marriage" in schools by passing Question 1 (similar to Prop 8 in California). StandforMarriageMaine.com campaign is being swamped by massive TV advertising expenditures, and imported paid staff and volunteers by the other side. Being outspent by a margin of two to one and polls showing a tie, prayers are desperately needed.

This election has national significance because if traditional definition of marriage is not restored, the advocates of same-sex “marriage” will be able to claim, for the first time ever, majority voter support for redefining marriage.  See background.

Call Maine Voters
See how you can
urge Maine voters
to support Question
One and restore the
definition of marriage
between a man and
a woman.

Please join us in a novena, nine days of prayer, starting on Monday, October 26 through election day, November 3. Please forward this email and ask others to join you across the country. We believe massive amounts of prayer are essential for support of returning marriage to the original value of God's creation in Maine. We are contacting 65 contemplative religious communities with this same prayer request. This is very serious.

Download the novena and distribute it to friends and people in our parish.
