SAN FRANCISCO, March 27,2014 -- On Friday, Michigan became another state where marriage has been redefined when a federal district court judge overturned the state’s marriage protection constitutional amendment. Scores of same-sex couples married on Saturday before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay at the request of Bill Schuette, the Michigan Attorney General. On Tuesday, the Appeals Court announced that the stay would remain in effect pending appeal.

SAN FRANCISCO, August 13, 2012 -- How far are we willing to see parental rights erode in California? That is a critical question in light of the recent success of SB 1172, the contentious bill banning licensed therapists from providing therapy for children with same-sex attraction or gender confusion that does not affirm the behavior. This bill robs parents of their rights and obligations to seek the good for their children and act in their best interest.

Parents' and Children's Rights
WASHINGTON, DC, August 2, 2012 -- “As of today, it is legal in California to give hormone blockers to an 11 year-old boy in order to delay the onset of puberty, but it could soon be illegal for a 17 year-old with unwanted same-sex attractions to receive professional counseling, even with parental consent.” Now, California Senator Ted Lieu, has removed any doubt as to why he introduced Senate Bill 1172: “The attack on parental rights is exactly the whole point of the bill because we don’t want to let parents harm their children.”
