Both bills support Planned Parenhoods business plan at the expense of women's health. California voters opposed AB 154 (Atkins) by greater than 2-1 margin.

Scores of same-sex couples married on Saturday before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay at the request of Bill Schuette, the Michigan Attorney General. On Tuesday, the Appeals Court announced that the stay would remain in effect pending appeal.

Governor Vetoes Unjust Attack on Church CA SB 131 SACRAMENTO, October 13, 2013 --California Governor Jerry Brown vetoed SB 131, an unjust bill that would have reopened the statute of limitations for filing sexual abuse law suits for just the Catholic Church and other private employers. Public schools and other government programs are exempt. Despite bi-partisan opposition, the trial lawyers who were driving this bill with a great deal of political manipulation, were just barely able to get it out of the legislature and to the Governor's desk. California bishops have thanked the Governor for his veto. We are also grateful for the thousands of people who contacted the Governor to request the veto.
UPDATE: 10/8/2013 Governor Signed into Law California Bill Promoting Creation of Fatherless Children SACRAMENTO, October 8, 2013 -- California Bill AB460, a bill to facilitate lesbians qualifying for insurance coverage when they seek to create children using artificial reproductive technology (ART), has passed both houses of the legislature and has now been signed into law by the Governor. Proponents were able to cover up a major unintended consequence of the bill that the legislators never had a chance to consider and discuss.
